We all want to have a strong and fit core. When we think of a strong core, most people only look at the muscles that are on their stomachs. However, it is important to consider all of your abdominal muscles as well as those around your spine and pelvis when you’re thinking about your core strength or weakness. Yoga helps strengthen these muscles by working them in a way that other exercises do not.

Yoga in a hammock does this by taking what would normally be an exercise on the ground and turning it into something your body must adjust to, which makes all of those muscles work harder than they otherwise would have had to.

I have always loved yoga. I’ve been practicing traditional yoga since I was 17 years old and it’s one of the best ways to get in touch with your body, mind, and soul.

Yoga is not only a form of exercise – yoga helps you become more aware of yourself. It can help relieve stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia or other ailments that many people suffer from these days. So for me yoga will always be an essential part of my life because it makes me feel calm and balanced.

I found out about aerial yoga when my friend invited me to try it at her studio in Boston years ago. We did some inverted postures which were really difficult but also very rewarding! Aerial classes are different than traditional hatha yoga because you get the support of a yoga hammock, which makes it easier to balance and hold difficult poses.

I started doing yoga in my friend’s aerial yoga studio but later I was able to buy an aerial yoga system for my own home! Now that I’ve been practicing yoga on a regular basis at home, I can say with confidence that yoga is also great for your core because it allows you to do all kinds of challenging aerial yoga poses which help strengthen and tone the abdominal muscles.

The core is the center of the human body and consists of all muscle mass between your pelvis and rib cage. This area includes your diaphragm, abdominal muscles, back muscles, pelvic floor muscle group (PFM), erector spinae muscle group (ESM), multifidus muscle group (MMG) and rotational musculature. The core encompasses many different types of functions including postural support, breathing control or stabilization during movement.

It also acts as a link between upper and lower extremities to provide stability for movement in all planes.

A strong core is vital for everyday living activities such as sitting upright without slouching over or bending forward at the waist to read something on the ground below you because it supports the spine and prevents your body from falling over.

In addition, a strong core can help you lift heavier objects without straining yourself as it is responsible for maintaining proper posture while lifting or pushing heavy loads.

Think of your core as a beam of steel and your limbs as cables, where the core is firmly holding your trunk together to allow you to move the cable-like extremities.

The best way to train your core would be anti-gravity yoga, pilates or traditional yoga because they all emphasize on body awareness and strengthening through stabilization rather than just contracting a solitary muscle group like crunches do.

Yoga in a hammock: the laziest yoga workout?

Of course not!

Aerial yoga is harder than yoga on the ground because you have to balance your body. That’s why aerial yoga helps improve yoga skills and it also makes yoga more fun!

I love aerial yoga, it is one of my favorite types of yoga, maybe even my most enjoyed form of yoga. It has become one of my favorite yoga practices because it’s easier to balance on yoga hammocks, you can stretch better with yoga in a hammock and your spine gets all the pressure taken off so that many people struggle less than if they were trying yoga poses on the ground.

Keeping pose longer is easier in yoga hammocks because you are able to keep balanced.

During my workouts, I spend more time in a swing than on the mat. It’s easier to hold complex poses for a longer period of time when you are in the swing. Because you don’t necessarily rely only on your hands or feet to hold you up, you can stay in the pose longer. Thus, you can flow through a sequence of moves without having to rest as much.

Practicing aerial yoga can help relieve lower back pain

Since all of the pressure of your body weight is taken off, aerial yoga can help relieve tension in lower back pain by opening up the spine and stretching out the muscles.
